Special Effects?

Pretty much what it says on the tin ^^

What are your thoughts as far as special effects are concerned? For example, will there be a Luna? Are you looking to do it by plushie substitution or would you consider a CGI animated cat?
What about transformation sequences? Are you likely to skip them or would you think about a program like After Effects to make it look all sparkly and everything?

I just thought I'd ask since I'm in my last year of uni and I think a lot of my classmates might be looking for more work for their portfolio and they might be interested in this project if it means they can get extra experience.

As far as the cats go I think we'll skip them all together, but possibly have a little cameo of them in one scene or so. They aren't in the Myu at all, so I think we can get by without them ^^

As far as tranformation sequences we've only briefly discussed it so far (and by "we" I mean me and Lauren) and we haven't quite decided. If we can get them to look good, we might have some kind of henshin (shorter than the anime though, I've always thought it was too long xD). But we might also just have the senshi so something like put their hand in the air and shot their line, then *poof* they'll be transformed. xD

In general, it all depends on what kind of help we can get with the filming and editing. I claim no experience in that field, so it all depends on who we can rope into working with us. ^^ I'm hoping that since some of you are at Uni doing stuff like this, like you say, you might have some classmates that will be up for doing it! We need all the help we can get! ^^

So to sum it up; I'd like to have as much special effects as we can, but I'd rather do "less is more" if it doesn't look good. ^_^

Ah okidoki, in that case I can ask around my class once you guys have announced things properly (don't wanna make you feel like I'm leaking info to people before things have really taken off yet!)

Haha it's really just the website that we're all waiting for at the moment, which is all on me. I can't really give Mike anything to make into a website until I've actually decided what is gonna be on it! xD

But yes, if you could do that then it'd be fantastic! Things like that are gonna be impossible for me sort out, since I'm all the way over in Sweden. ^^

Ah that's cool ^^ I'll probably wait until the website is all live and all the info is up there, then I can print out some flyers (with website details) and put them up around the Animation level. If my class is too busy with final year work I'm betting there will be some eager 2nd years who'll jump at the opportunity to help us out ^^
